To all artists out there: have you ever been so inspired to draw, so ready to put that explosive idea to paper and make something beautiful? It’s the impulse you get if you are like me, someone who just gets lost in making things that impress others and more importantly, impress yourself. Every artist has that one specialty too, and every artist has that type of art that they really hate and when your teacher tells you “You have to be diverse” you just sit and sigh. You love your work, it makes you happy when you finish a great piece but then you look at someone else’s work and the green little monster breaks through. The colors, the passion, you can see the definition of an artist’s feelings all poured into one image. You wonder to yourself “How do I advance myself?” Even when you take the hard steps you still feel like you fall short. You often wonder, “Is it my skill or is it my equipment?” That’s when you hunt everywhere for the pricy stuff that only sprinkles some quality on your “okay” art. I know you’ve felt like this too if you are like me. If you haven’t already clicked away, don’t fret. The life of an artist isn’t bad at all. Be proud young pencil breakers and pinky smudgers, it gets better. Drawing is probably one of the most motivational processes to partake in. Anything you can make in your mind comes alive on the face of a blank white canvas with that pencil in hand! Now go on, and create the new and breathtaking ideas of the future!
